The kick-off workshop of the AHRC large grant ‘Rethinking the Senses’ introduces the first part of the project, looking for a useful taxonomy of multisensory interactions. What kinds of interactions are there and should they all be explained in the same way?
The question will be approached here from a philosophical perspective (Casey O’Callaghan) focusing on the problem of multisensory consciousness, and an empirical one (Bea De Gelder) focused on the specific case of multisensory perception of emotion.
