Specific Calls

A number of specific funding calls have been announced under the AHRC Science in Culture Theme.

The AHRC Science in Culture Theme Exploratory Awards, Innovation Awards, Large Grants, and Research Grants were all funded following specific funding calls.

Highlight Notices

Highlight notices are intended to stimulate proposals under specified AHRC themes or strategic priorities in order to rapidly advance thinking or collaboration in these areas. Highlight notices are offered as opportunities within existing AHRC research schemes and are therefore assessed under the same criteria and assessment process.

Highlight notices are applied for a set period of time, for example 12 months.

AHRC Science in Culture Theme Fellowships and Research Networking Scheme awards were funded following a Highlight Notice.

Funding through AHRC responsive Mode

The AHRC offers several modes of funding for postdoctoral academics. Full information is available at http://www.ahrc.ac.uk/Funding-Opportunities/Research-funding/Pages/Research-funding.aspx.

Applicants to these responsive mode schemes with a particular interest in the Science in Culture Theme are welcome to reference this
in their application. If successful, award holders may be aligned to the Science in Culture Theme where appropriate. AHRC responsive mode funding operates without deadlines.
