Neuroscientist, Professor Colin Blakemore, Principal Investigator for the Rethinking the Senses Large Grant will be in conversation with Dr. Jenny Tillotson, Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London on 30th May 2014.
Jenny Tillotson is a Reader in Sensory Fashion at Central Saint Martins and Platform Leader in Wellbeing at the Textile Futures Research Centre. She is also a Churchill Fellow, Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge, Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, STEM Ambassador and an Associate of the British Society of Perfumery. Tillotson has pioneered Scentsory Design® which unites the ancient art of perfumery with emerging technologies, ‘emotional fashion’ and wellbeing.
Professor Colin Blakemore is Professor of Neuroscience and Philosophy and Director of the Centre for the Study of the Senses, School of Advanced Study, University of London. Colin Blakemore’s research specializes in vision and the development of the brain. He is also a well know communicator of science and has presented the BBC Reith Lecures and the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. He was formerly Chief Executive of the British Medical Research Council.
